Dele Alli has endured a difficult season at Tottenham under JoseMourinho and doubts were high if he was to remain at Tottenham during the January transfer window when PSG was interested in his services.
The midfielder has made Jose Mourinho happy after his solid performance against Wolfsberger AC in Europa League by scoring a goal and providing two-assist by his name.
Alli opened the scoring with a well-taken bicycle kick out of reach of Wolfsberger goalkeeper Manuel Kuttin then set up the second goal for Carlos Vinicius before setting up the third goal for Gareth Bale in 4-0 demolition of Wolfsberger AC.
Overall, Dele has three goals and four assists in 17 appearances for Tottenham this season. Mourinho after the match attributed Dele performance to working with motivation. He acknowledged the difficult period the midfielder was in with injuries sidelining his participation at the same time transfer speculations that at last did not materialise.
Spurs supporters took to social media to applaud the midfielder for his performance with his England teammate and Aston villa captain Jack Grealish taking on Instagram in reaction to Dele’s bicycle kick. the Aston villa talisman posted a video of the goal and wrote a caption: “naaaaaah @dele”
Tottenham have congested matches over the next two weeks which will see Mourinho use Alli more frequently in his lineup rotation as they have to face Burnley at home come Sunday, after which travel to the craven cottage to meet fulham, then host crystal palace three days later.
The former Spurs manager Pochettino had gotten the best out of the midfielder as he was one of his key players. On his advice to Mourinho back after he was sacked, Pochettino adviced Mourinho to just give the youngster time. He argued Alli needed time to find his feet, just like others.
