Danny Mills speculates Barcelona may sign Alexander-Arnold after confirmed news
Liverpool will have to continue to meet Trent Alexander-Arnold’s ambitions if they are to keep hold of him.
That is according to ex-England and Leeds United full-back Danny Mills, articulating exclusively to Football Insider as Alexander-Arnold penned a new deal with the club.
Liverpool announced on 30 July that the right-back, 22, has signed a new contract that will keep him at Anfield until at least 2025.
The academy product has now played 179 games across all competitions for the Reds.
Asked whether the local lad could see out his career at Anfield, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It depends what happens to the club.

“It’s like when all those players were staying at Man United for years. Yes, but they were winning things.
“All those other players were moving around because they were trying to win things. Man United were the best club in the land for a long, long time so why would you want to leave?
“From his best perspective, it depends how well Liverpool are doing. If Liverpool are doing well and he’s doing well, then he can stay for a long time.
“But if he’s doing well and Liverpool aren’t then he might be thinking ‘I want to move on for my England career’. Equally, if Liverpool are doing well and he has a dip in form then you can soon find yourself out of the team in two or three years.
“Imagine, Barcelona kick-off and get back to their best or Real Madrid and then they say ‘We want you, come and play for us’. However much of a Liverpool lad you are, those opportunities are good.”
