Daniel Levy wants 50-year-old as the new manager, but senior Spurs figures don’t agree with him

Tottenham Hotspur’s chairman, Daniel Levy, is considering the possibility of rehiring Mauricio Pochettino if Antonio Conte departs this summer, but he does not have full support from the club’s top officials.

Despite a disappointing season, Tottenham is still a strong contender to finish in the top four, which has been their goal in recent years.

Nonetheless, the club may need to find a new manager due to Conte’s contract expiration and the likelihood of parting ways.

If Conte departs from Tottenham this summer, the club’s management, including Daniel Levy, will need to find a high-caliber replacement.

There are several available options, such as Thomas Tuchel, Luis Enrique, and even Zinedine Zidane. Nonetheless, Mauricio Pochettino’s name is often mentioned as a possible candidate for the job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Pochettino, who is 50 years old and from Argentina, spent more than five years with Spurs, and he significantly transformed the team. Although he did not secure any trophies, it’s fair to say that he was the best manager the club has had in the last decade.

Although Levy fired Pochettino in 2019, according to Dean Jones, the Tottenham Hotspur chairman is considering rehiring him this summer. Nonetheless, some senior figures at the club are not in favor of this decision.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Insiders admit it would not make sense for Conte to leave now but believe it is feasible this is his final season in charge: And that could open the door for Pochettino.

“He remains of interest to chairman Daniel Levy and Pochettino’s current job status will obviously have appeal at a time when he is out of work.

“But the pull for a Poch return is not wholly felt around the club, where it is understood some senior figures feel it may be unwise to step back to such a set up.”

It is indeed fascinating to see the possibility of Pochettino returning to Tottenham Hotspur. Although he has his limitations, he is an exceptional manager who has a track record of developing young players and enhancing the overall performance of the squad.

Moreover, he has already worked with many members of the team, which could be an advantage. However, if Dean Jones is accurate in his reporting, it appears that senior figures at the club do not agree with Levy’s stance.

It will be intriguing to observe how this situation unfolds in the upcoming months. If Conte decides to leave, we believe that Pochettino could be the one Tottenham turns to as his replacement.
