Daniel Ek preparing to launch ANOTHER Arsenal takeover bid.
The Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek is planning to improve his Arsenal takeover bid to more than £2billion following his failed opening offer of £1.8bn last month.
Ek alleged that under-fire Gunners owners the Kroenke family had told him that they ‘didn’t need the money’ when he attempted to buy the club last time.
However, sources close to the Ek camp have disclosed that a second bid ‘north of £2bn’ is being readied and that they ‘are not going anywhere and want to get a deal done’. Club insiders have indicated they are expecting for a second offer.
Spotify founder Ek, 38, launched his bid in the wake of the European Super League failure.
Ek went public to assert that the offer incorporated fan ownership, representation at board level and a golden share for supporters.
Ek has Gunners legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira on his bid team.
An offer of an extra £300million may well test Kroenkes’ resolve, notwithstanding an emphasis that the club is not for sale.
The US owners, led by Stan Kroenke, 73, who seized full control in 2018, are highly unpopular with large segments of the club’s support.

Ek says he has been an Arsenal supporter since the age of eight.
Interestingly, The Telegraph lately published that the Dutchman along with Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, could now be included in a possible takeover bid.
Only Henry has established his involvement. He said:
“I know a lot of people wanted to hear about it. It is true. Daniel is an Arsenal fan,” the Frenchman said. “He didn’t say that for any publicity. He is an Arsenal fan for a very long time.
“He approached us, we listened to him.
“When we knew first and foremost that he wanted to involve the fans, exactly what we talked about, we actually met the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust and told them what we wanted to do – bring them back on board, being part of the meetings, knowing what’s happening, because you’ve got to put the DNA back into the club.
“The golden share that I’m talking about.”
