Crystal Palace set to appoint the Arsenal invincible as their new manager.
The Athletic report that Crystal Palace are set to make Patrick Vieira their new boss, reaching an agreement in principle with the former Arsenal midfielder over the task.
Though the deal hasn’t yet been signed, the formalisation of their agreement is expected today, and the process of applying for a visa is underway.
Palace are dreaming to have Vieira in the job in time for pre-season training to begin next Monday.
Vieira has often been connected with managerial jobs at Arsenal, including in both 2018 and 2019. But it never quite panned out. Instead, the 45-year-old worked for New York City FC for two years, then OGC Nice for two more.

After Nice let him go in December, Vieira took a bit of a pause from management, but it looks like he’s set to return with a job in the Premier League.
Arsenal supporters will certainly be watching closely to see how their former player progress. If he’s a breakthrough at Palace, that will surely only make him a stronger candidate for any possible future Arsenal job.
Most recently, Vieira has been in Arsenal-related headlines on the back of his embroilment with Daniel Ek’s bid to buy the club away from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.
Vieira joined Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp in backing Ek’s proposal.
But it seems like he has a new job to focus on now, and we wish him the best of luck whenever he’s not facing Arsenal.
