Cristiano Ronaldo wins his first award since Manchester United return

Cristiano Ronaldo has received his first award since joining Manchester United.

United announced that Ronaldo had been named the club’s player of the month for September.

It’s not surprising. Ronaldo scored five goals in his first five games back.

Three of these came in the Premier League and two in the Champions League. The most recent was a memorable 95th-minute victory over Villarreal.

According to Sky Sports , Ronaldo has also been nominated for the Premier League’s player of the month award.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger, Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin, and Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo are also in the running.

This is unlikely to be Ronaldo’s only nomination for a league or club award.

Ronaldo is still one of the league’s most lethal players at the age of 36.

United’s problem has been providing him with the appropriate service. United has struggled to create quality scoring opportunities in recent league games.

Ronaldo is no stranger to individual accolades, having won the Ballon d’Or five times.

He has won the Premier League player of the season award twice, as well as the writers’ award and the PFA award as voted on by his teammates.

It’s not out of the question for him to do it again this season, though there’s still a long way to go. For Ronaldo to have a chance, United must play better as a team than they have in the last few league games.
