Cristiano Ronaldo posts ‘united’ statement on social media after his stunning interview with Piers Morgan as two Man Utd players react
After the release of the first excerpts of his explosive interview on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored,’ in which he criticized  Manchester United on a variety of fronts, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence and commented on the interview.
The striker for Portugal has posted on social media with the hashtag ‘united,’ despite the fact that his status at Old Trafford is still up in the air.
On Sunday night, hours after United defeated Fulham 2-1 in the Premier League thanks to Alejandro Garnacho’s last-gasp goal, Ronaldo stole the headlines as Piers Morgan confirmed the spectacular interview was on its way. The match between the two teams had taken place earlier in the day.
Following the release of footage documenting his 90-minute talk, the Red Devils fanbase was thrown into chaos as a result of his words.
This evening, Ronaldo took to social media to upload a picture that he had taken while Portugal was in their training camp to begin their preparations for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
The striker, who is 37 years old, accompanied the photo with the caption: “Total and absolute focus on National Team work. United group, towards one objective: realize the dream of all Portuguese people!”
Even though some of his teammates may have taken offense to the brutally honest statements he made about United and the current leadership under Erik ten Hag, he still has supporters in the locker room.
His Instagram post was liked almost immediately by the young fullback combo Brandon Williams and Diogo Dalot, both of whom are joining him in the Portugal squad.
Shortly after Ronaldo’s post, Morgan uploaded the most recent clip from the interview, in which the legendary No. 7 fired fire at United’s chiefs for not believing him while his newborn daughter was poorly in hospital. Morgan’s post came shortly after Ronaldo’s post.
He highlighted it as the reason he missed pre-season and stated that he was left ‘hurt’ by the club’s attitude towards it. He also cited it as the reason he missed the start of the regular season.
He said: “I spoke with the directive and president of Manchester United. They kind of did not believe that there was something going wrong, which made me feel bad. They believed, but in the same way, I’m never going to change the health of my family for football. Never. Now, or ten years ago or forward.
“It’s something that really hurt me because they doubted my word and that I struggled, especially Belle and Jill. I didn’t go to pre-season because of that, because I wouldn’t let anything happen to my family for pre-season. I don’t think that’s fair, and that’s why I didn’t go.”
In the next month and a half, Ronaldo will be looking to add to his legacy by leading Portugal to victory at the World Cup. He will be eager to put the pain he experienced at United behind him during this time.
On November 24, Portugal will get their tournament in Qatar off against Ghana. Following that, they will compete against Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
