Cristiano Ronaldo knows how to compel Manchester United to sign players – and he’s doing it again

According to  Manu Sainz, a close friend of Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned about Manchester United’s lack of speed in the transfer market.

Following Liverpool and Manchester City’s recent purchases, the 37-year-old Portuguese thinks that United’s gap with them may get even wider.

Ronaldo appears to understand how to work United, having quickly signed for them following a bombardment of rumours tying him to Manchester City.

This is supposed to be another attempt by him to persuade the Red Devils to make some additions.

Ronaldo has stated that he does not want to spend his final seasons in top football where he has no realistic possibility of adding medals to his cabinet, and his concerns are valid.

United have not won the league in nearly 10 years, and their most recent domestic championship was the EFL Cup in 2016/17, a season in which they also won the Europa League.

Ronaldo wants reinforcements at United, but it appears that the club will not make the required roster adjustments.

However, recently appointed Erik ten Hag appears to be ambitious in terms of bringing in new players.

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United in 2003 after impressing against the club while playing for Sporting CP.

He went on to have a fantastic career with the English club, winning three Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

Most athletes would consider this a successful career, but Ronaldo accomplished it all during his ostensibly “developing years.”

He then joined Real Madrid, and the rest, as they say, is history. Two La Liga titles and four Champions League triumphs.

Despite the two Scudettos, his subsequent Juventus tenure was largely unsatisfactory.

However, in 2021, he made his long-awaited comeback to United.

Ronaldo’s 18 league goals for this gloomy United side mean he can call his season a success, even if the same cannot be said with the club he represents.

Nonetheless, Ronaldo is likely to regard any season without a trophy as a colossal failure.
