Cristiano Ronaldo invites FOUR Man Utd players to Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr match to bid goodbye after dramatic departure
Cristiano Ronaldo has invited some of his Manchester United friends on vacation to share a proper farewell with him.
Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United occurred while he was on World Cup duty with Portugal, so he was unable to say goodbye to his former teammates.
Therefore, he has reached out to his closest teammates in an effort to arrange a trip to his homeland, or even to visit him in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo left United in November following a negative interview with Piers Morgan.
He signed a £170 million per year contract with Saudi club Al Nassr, the richest football contract in history.
Ronaldo, 37, is currently having a luxury home constructed on the outskirts of Lisbon and has texted his United friends about a summer get-together.
If schedules permit, he has also asked if they would be interested in watching him play for his new club in the Middle East.
A United insider said: “There are still a few lads here who have nothing but respect for Ronny and were sad how it all ended, because they never got to say a proper goodbye.
“He recently left the player WhatsApp groups but promised to keep in touch with a few and has invited them to his new place in Lisbon and to Saudi to watch him play.
“Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Raphael Varane are all mates.
“His place in Lisbon sounds incredible — and he can certainly now afford it!”
It is believed that Ronaldo has also returned his fleet of luxury vehicles to Portugal.
“A couple of the lads at the training ground hoped he’d raffle off one of his supercars, like Sergio Aguero did when he left City!”
When Aguero left the Etihad in 2021, he raffled off his $40,000 Range Rover to the first-team staff.
It was won by one of the club’s kitmen, Ally Marland.
