Cristian Romero has subtly criticized Antonio Conte, who appears to be leaving his position as manager of Tottenham this week.

Romero shared a collage of photos on his Instagram story, depicting his arrival at Argentina’s training base.
As the caption, he wrote: “Que lindo estar de vuelta @afaseleccion donde realmente se disfruta.” When translated to English, it reads: “How nice to be back @afaseleccion where you really enjoy.”
Earlier this week, Romero had seemingly criticized Conte for his angry outburst directed at the Spurs squad. The Argentine defender defended his teammates, emphasizing that they would bounce back and try again after the disappointing draw against Southampton.
“There are many things to improve, but we will not get tired of trying, we will get up and try again. I love the players of my team, I love them and my club,” Romero wrote on Instagram.
“I know that we are going to move forward and the time and work of all together will tell us where we will go. I’ve been here for a short time, but we’re going to be together to achieve important things, more years may pass but we’ll try.”
Although Romero has affirmed his commitment to Tottenham for many years, it seems that Conte’s departure from the club is imminent. On Monday night, reports surfaced that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would be sacking the Italian manager this week.
Levy is still considering his decision, but many close to him believe that the situation is irreparable following Conte’s recent outburst. It’s expected that Ryan Mason will be promoted to the position of interim manager for the remainder of the season.
Conte has already spoken with Levy, maintaining that his outburst was directed solely at the players. However, this argument has been met with skepticism, as the Italian has refused to retract his comments, further straining his relationship with the dressing room.
