Confirmed: Manchester City’s possible opponents in the UEFA Champions League round of last-16

Manchester City now knows who they will potentially meet in the final 16 of the UEFA Champions League this season.

On matchday six of the Champions League group stage, Pep Guardiola’s squad will welcome Sevilla from La Liga at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Despite back-to-back scoreless draws on matchdays four and five, the defending Premier League winners have mainly dominated Group G.

Manchester City secured their spot with a scoreless draw against Copenhagen on matchday four, and a week later, a scoreless draw against Borussia Dortmund solidified their position at the top of the group.

Before the Champions League last-16 draw on November 7th, and following the conclusion of the remaining group stage games this week, here is a detailed breakdown of who Manchester City could face in the next round!

 UEFA Champions League round of last-16 Draw Rules

In the draw for the round of 16 of the Champions League, the eight group winners are seeded, but the eight group runners-up are not.

The seeded teams (group champions) are paired with the unseeded teams (group runners-up), with the seeded teams hosting the second leg of their round-of-16 match.

Teams from the same group or organization cannot be pitted against one another.
