“Come to us..” Martin Odegaard tells the ‘beast’ Erling Haaland to come to Arsenal

Martin Odegaard remarked that if his international teammate Erling Haaland decides to join a Premier League club during the summer transfer window, he must sign for Arsenal.

Haaland, who has a £63 million release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract, has emerged as one of the world’s most sought-after strikers and is coveted by a number of European clubs this summer.

Odegaard has stated that he is not shocked by the hoopla around the Norwegian international, referring to him as a “beast” who “can play in any league, in every country.”

Manchester City are thought to have taken a huge stride forward in their pursuit of Haaland this summer.

Haaland reportedly agreed to a deal with the Premier League giants that would pay him more than £500,000 per week, according to Sportsmail.

That didn’t stop Odegaard from saying that if his international teammate wanted to leave the Bundesliga for the Premier League this summer, he’d have to join Arsenal.

When asked about Haaland’s future by StadiumAstro, the Arsenal star replied, “He [Haaland] is a funny guy. A good friend of mine and a great player.

“We will see what he will do. I don’t know. But, if he is coming to England, he needs to come to us of course. No, I don’t know what he will do but he is a great guy.

“To be honest we haven’t talked too much about it. I know he has so many people trying to ask him and to tell him what to do and I don’t want to do that. So, we will have to wait and see.”

When questioned if Haaland would be suited to the Premier League’s toughness, Odegaard remarked, “He’s a beast.”

“He is strong, he is fast, and I think he has everything. So, I think he can play in every league, in every country to be honest.”

This summer, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City have all expressed interest in signing Haaland. However, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are thought to be leading the transfer race.

City are expected to activate Haaland’s £63 million release clause at Dortmund after recently agreeing terms with his representatives.

If the agreement is completed, Haaland will become Manchester City’s highest-paid player.

A weekly salary of more over £500,000 would put him ahead of Kevin De Bruyne, who earns roughly £385,000.

Furthermore, Guardiola is eager to complete a deal before Manchester City’s travel to the United States in July.
