Club tells Tottenham’s ‘monumental’ target that if he stay they’ll make him captain – Fabrizio Romano
Tottenham have long been linked with a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, but the Italian giants have now made him a substantial offer to remain with the club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the future of the outstanding Slovakian defender, who has been labeled a “monumental” player, is uncertain.
During the summer transfer window, Skriniar was heavily linked to a move away from Inter Milan.
The 27-year-old had entered the final year of his contract, and Ben Jacobs of The Last Word On Spurs Podcast stated that both Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing him.
PSG reportedly told Kylian Mbappe that they would sign Skriniar (GFFN), but Inter ultimately retained his services, which is a tremendously excellent development.
Now, the Italian giants want to sign the Slovak to a long-term contract at the San Siro, and they’re willing to make him their top player for years.
Romano disclosed yesterday that Inter are so eager to sign Skriniar to a new deal that they have promised to appoint him club captain if he decides to remain with them beyond the end of current season.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly confident in their ability to retain the defender.
Inter will meet again with Milan Å kriniar agents in the next weeks to discuss new contract, still early – long term deal, increased salary & captain’s armband offered. 🔵🇸🇰 #Inter
