Club Brugge is considering Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a replacement for Scott Parker, which could mark his return to first-team management following his dismissal from Manchester United.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the former Manchester United head coach is among the candidates being considered along with Dino Toppmoller and Ronny Deila.

Brugge are searching for Parker’s replacement after dismissing him at the start of March after only four months in charge of the Belgian club.

They have yet to name a permanent replacement, but they are keeping an eye on potential candidates, including Ronny Deila of Standard Liege, who has been impressive this season.

As a result of the interest, Tavolieri reports that Deila is ‘pondering his future’ at the club, requesting sporting guarantees in the transfer window before committing further.

Brugge has placed him on their “shortlist” of candidates, along with Toppmoller and Solskjaer, and he is aware of this.

After leaving his position as assistant manager at Bayern Munich at the end of last month, Toppmoller is now a free agent.
Solskjaer has been the manager of Kristiansund BK’s youth team since September of last year, nearly a year after leaving Manchester United in November of 2021.

The fact that Parker was a former Premier League manager has apparently not deterred Brugge, who reportedly have him on their list of potential managers for the upcoming season.
