Chris Sutton issues shocking free fall prediction of Everton v Liverpool derby
Former professional footballer Chris Sutton thinks that Everton has a shot at defeating Liverpool in the upcoming Merseyside Derby on 13 February in the Premier League.
Despite Liverpool’s recent winless run in the league, losing to Brentford, Brighton, and Wolves, Everton’s recent victory against Arsenal under new manager Sean Dyche has given them a boost in confidence.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Sutton said, “I actually think that they [Everton] have a chance of winning the derby, I really do, because on the other half of the city Liverpool are in free fall.”
However, despite these recent struggles, Liverpool is still a strong side with a wealth of talent and a proud history.
They have a number of players who can step up and perform on the big stage. . Additionally, Liverpool has a deep pool of talented players who can be called upon to fill in if needed.
It would be foolish to underestimate Liverpool, even if they are going through a difficult patch. Derbies are always unpredictable and anything can happen on the day.
Dyche is now the manager of Everton and the team’s performance against Arsenal indicated that the players have adapted well to his strategies.
It’s unlikely that he will make any alterations to the current lineup as it is strong enough to compete with Liverpool.
A repeat performance in the upcoming Merseyside derby would be exciting and it’s not unexpected if they manage to earn at least a draw.
