Chelsea’s next five Premier League matches compared to Liverpool, Man Utd and Tottenham

Chelsea’s next five Premier League matches compared to Liverpool, Man Utd and Tottenham

Chelsea secured their third consecutive victory in all competitions with a 3-1 triumph over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The Blues were able to claim all three points thanks to goals from Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, and Mateo Kovacic.

This win is part of their efforts to gather momentum as they approach the final 12 matches of the Premier League season.

Over the past week, the west London team has significantly improved and looks more stable and complete than earlier in the season. Chilwell, who scored against his former team, has continued to perform impressively.

Additionally, Havertz, who netted the winner against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash at Stamford Bridge earlier this week, scored his second goal in two games.

Joao Felix was unlucky to have a goal disallowed due to an offside decision before he was substituted at half-time for Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher’s introduction helped the team gain control of the midfield, and he made a remarkable clearance on the goal line to preserve their lead. Chelsea will now focus on their upcoming match against Everton.

SportsDias has outlined the upcoming fixtures for the next five games in the league.

Everton (H) – March 18

Stamford Bridge will host another home game for Chelsea as they face Everton, who are fighting to stay in the Premier League under Sean Dyche’s management. Both teams have been knocked out of the FA Cup, so this match will proceed as scheduled.

Although Dyche has revitalized Everton’s campaign, they continue to struggle with scoring goals and securing victories on the road. For Graham Potter’s team, anything less than a win in this match would be unacceptable.

Aston Villa (H) – April 1

At present, Aston Villa sits in 11th place in the Premier League and appears to be safe from relegation. Unai Emery’s team has had a typical mid-table season, with 10 victories and 11 defeats, but it won’t be an easy opponent for Chelsea.

If Chelsea hopes to make a late push for a top-four finish, winning games like this against Villa is critical, and it must become a regular occurrence under Potter’s leadership.

Liverpool (H) – April 4

The first week of April will see Chelsea playing three games in the span of a week. On a Tuesday evening, Liverpool will visit Stamford Bridge. Like Chelsea, the Reds have not been at their best this season, but they are still competing for a top-four position.

Although their chances of advancing in the Champions League this year appear to be slim, Jurgen Klopp’s team will present another challenging obstacle for Potter’s side.

Wolves (A) – April 8

Chelsea’s fixtures in April will be packed closely together. After Chelsea’s victory over Dortmund in the round of 16, the quarter-finals of the Champions League will occur on April 11/12 and 18/19.

Wolves, under Julen Lopetegui’s leadership, have improved their season after the World Cup and created some distance between themselves and the relegation zone. Chelsea has not won at Molineux since September 2019, so the game against Wolves will be a challenge for the Blues.

Brighton (H) – April 15

In their next match, Potter will face his previous team, Brighton, and will want Chelsea to enter the game in good form. Brighton remains in contention for a top-four spot this season and has players capable of troubling Chelsea.

Chelsea will get a closer look at Moises Caicedo, whom they were unable to sign in January. The Ecuadorian midfielder recently extended his contract with the Seagulls but may still draw interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

Man United (A) – April 22

Chelsea’s match against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will be one of their toughest games near the end of the season. Ten Hag, the former Ajax coach, has continued to impress with his new team.

Some believe that Ten Hag has demonstrated that a manager does not need a long time to implement their ideas and tactics, especially if they spend significantly in the transfer market. United has surprised many by quickly returning to the top four, but they remain slightly behind in the title race.

In the match against United, Marcus Rashford will be the primary threat that the Blues must confront, as Potter attempts to replicate his success over Ten Hag from the beginning of the season with Brighton.
