With the Dutch contract coming to an end in just three months, Georginio Wijnaldum has been linked with a move away from Anfield. Surprisingly, Chelsea have reportedly emerged as surprise contenders as they are racing to acquire the signature of Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum’s future at Anfield has been a topic of great debate in the past few months as the midfielder prefers to look for new pastures elsewhere rather than staying with the Red. The Dutch has spent a total of five years at Liverpool and has been a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s first team in recent months.

Despite strong links of Wijnaldum joining Barcelona, the Spanish outlet  Marca has reported that a reunion with his former Netherland coach Ronald Koeman could suffer a blow as Chelsea are also in target of the Dutch. Thomas Tuchel considers Wijnaldum as a perfect addition to boost his squad.

It appears that the Dutchman doesn’t run short of option with reports that several European giants among them Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and Juventus are also pursuing the possibility of his services.

Wijnaldum’s move to Stamford Bridge won’t go down well with Liverpool fans due to domestic rivalry, but an opportunity for Wijnaldum to remain in England could be appealing to some point for the midfielder especially since Chelsea transformation under Tuchel spells their title contention credentials.

In last week update about his future, Wijnaldum remained cagey in his responce when he said: “You will always talk about those things and about my future,”

“But as I have said on other occasions, I have no news yet.

“When there is news, I will talk about it, but there is no news.
