Chelsea set an incredible Premier League record after beating Watford last night
Chelsea led after 45 minutes in their final game of the season, and Thomas Tuchel’s Blues have established an intriguing record.
They lead at the end of the first half yesterday, completing a 38-game season without falling behind at halftime.

It’s an impressive record, but it hasn’t been represented in their results this season, especially at home, where they’ve struggled.
Of sure, it demonstrates their early efficacy – but what matters is how many points they have at the end of a game, not the score at halftime.
Still, given that it’s a relatively meaningless game at Stamford Bridge in a season in which we will win nothing despite looking like one of Europe’s strongest teams at the start of the season, it’s great to have this as a small souvenir.
Tuchel is eager to bolster the squad, but because to the restrictions imposed on owner Roman Abramovich, the proposed buyout by a consortium led by Boehly must go through before Chelsea can do business.
Chelsea will almost surely try to sign defenders, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departing and captain Cesar Azpilicueta perhaps on his way out.
Tuchel expects to have the new players in place by the start of preseason.
