Chelsea ‘put five players up for sale this summer’

According to reports, Chelsea are willing to sell five regular first-team players for the right price this summer.

The team suffered another defeat on Saturday, with Southampton beating them 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, adding to their recent run of poor form.

Despite making a number of expensive signings in January, their new coach Graham Potter has not been able to turn their fortunes around, and they are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table.

Chelsea have not won any of their last five games in all competitions and have only won one out of 10 matches since the start of the year.

They also face the possibility of being knocked out of the Champions League in the last-16 stage, after losing the first leg 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund. The German side will visit Stamford Bridge for the second leg on March 7.

Football Insider has reported that Chelsea has now identified a group of five players, including Mason Mount, whom they are open to offers for this summer.

Chelsea has struggled to come to an agreement with the midfielder over a new contract, and as of now, he will become a free agent at the end of next season. Manchester United and Liverpool are both believed to be interested in Mount, and if he does not agree to new terms, Chelsea is expected to sell him in the summer.

Meanwhile, striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is not currently in the team’s plans, is also expected to leave at the end of the season. He has been left out of the Champions League squad and has not been included in Chelsea’s last three Premier League matches.

Chelsea has identified Aubameyang, Ziyech, Loftus-Cheek, and Gallagher as players who are also available for sale.

Aubameyang has not lived up to expectations since joining from Barcelona and has only scored three goals in 17 appearances. Ziyech, who was almost loaned to Paris Saint-Germain in January, is also viewed as expendable.

Although the deal collapsed due to paperwork issues, PSG unsuccessfully appealed the decision. Loftus-Cheek has only played a limited role under Potter and has less than 18 months left on his contract.

Gallagher, who was linked with moves to Everton and Newcastle United in January, has struggled to perform consistently this season.
