Chelsea player to miss next game as unclear injury update given ahead of Liverpool clash
As a result of a “ongoing issue,” Reece James has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming match against Liverpool.
The defender has returned to Stamford Bridge and will not play in tonight’s Euro 2024 qualifier between England and Ukraine at Wembley.
Now Chelsea awaits additional information regarding James’s availability for their upcoming games. Graham Potter’s squad will travel to Aston Villa on April 1 before hosting Liverpool in west London on April 4.
To finish in the Premier League’s top four and qualify for the Champions League next season, Liverpool will need a near-perfect finish to the season. They currently trail Tottenham Hotspur by seven points but have two games in hand.
After the international break, Liverpool will travel to Manchester City to resume play.
