Chelsea’s bid to sign Jules Kounde has hit a stumbling block with Kurt Zouma reluctant to join the Spanish side as part of the settlement.

The Blues are keen to use the Frenchman as part of a £50m deal to sign Kounde ahead of the new campaign with Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia and Sevilla director of football Monchi holding further discussions today.

It was supposed including Zouma would help drive down the price for the 22-year-old, who was also targeted by Manchester United and Real Madrid this summer.

Reports have alleged Sevilla would be willing to hold an offer of €45m plus Zouma but the Daily Mail maintain that deal is in major doubt with Zouma eager to remain in the Premier League.

The report alleges Zouma is giving ‘serious consideration’ to resisting to be used as a makeweight in the deal.

If he is to depart Stamford Bridge, the defender wants to remain in the Premier League and would rather remain in London.

West Ham United are keen on the former Saint-Etienne youngster and are in negotiations over a £20m move.

Zouma is keen on the switch to east London and it remains to be seen whether he would review a switch to Spain.

Sevilla are also believed to be admirers of Andreas Christensen but Chelsea are eager to keep hold of the Dane.
