Chelsea plans to axe 10 players in an extensive overhaul despite UCL’s success.

According to transfer news from The Athletic (subscription required), The Blues are set to let go of 10 members of their squad in an extensive clearout.
Chelsea are planning to offload a lot of their fringe stars as well as a few who are still associated with the first-team.
It has been a huge 10 days for the Blues. First, they secured top four in the Premier League in the last game week although a huge part was done by the help from Spurs. Then came the consecrated crown with the Champions League win over Man City to hand them the Europan bragging rights.
It was a complete performance as Chelsea added their name to the winners’ list for a second time.
However, work has now begun for next summer as the side wants to strengthen in the summer with some transfers. While there have been various connections to players such as Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Achraf Hakimi, and Niklas Sule, Chelsea are really looking to lessen the squad size with some exits.

It has been published that Chelsea are all set to allow the departure of 10 players from their squad. Fikayo Tomori is set to be signed by AC Milan on a permanent contract. Another member of the team who could depart is Olivier Giroud, whose commitment expires in the summer.
Two significant departures could be those of Tammy Abraham and Kurt Zouma. While Abraham has been on the edges for a while, Zouma’s name comes as a shock. It has been said that he does not fit Thomas Tuchel’s technique of play.
A throng of players who are out on loan are also set to face the axe. Davide Zappacosta, Ross Barkley, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Michy Batshuayi could all be shown the exit door too. Another name who has not been featured under Tuchel, Emerson could also be on his way out.
It will be a big season for The Blues, no reservation. There are connected to be new players coming in through the door but Chelsea will need to lighten their team. They have far too many stars on their books and offloading them will not only get them some cash but also ease the wage bill.
