Chelsea planning shock move for No.7 Belgium international

Chelsea are allegedly interested in bringing Eden Hazard back to the London club from Real Madrid, according to balkantalk

Newcastle United are also rumoured to be interested in the 31-year-old attacker, although the Blues are seen to be in a stronger position in this transaction.

Eden has struggled at the Santiago Bernabeu, never looking like the same footballer he was when he lit up the Premier League in Chelsea blue.

It’s possible that the La Liga heavyweights are now planning to transfer Hazard, and the Blues want to bring him back for a second stint.

It’s safe to say that the London giants never truly replaced Belgium international, with recent signings like Pulisic and Ziyech underperforming since joining to Chelsea.

Still, with the Belgian forward clearly past his prime, the Blues should look ahead rather than back.

The Belgian simply doesn’t seem to have the same impact on games anymore, and he’s been plagued by injuries in recent years.

The London giants can certainly aspire higher, even if many supporters would love to see this club legend return.

Newcastle United would be wise to take a chance on Eden, since he is more likely to be an upgrade over what they already have.

The Blues’ poor start to their Champions League campaign continued on Wednesday, when they drew 1-1 with RB Salzburg in Graham Potter’s first game in charge.
