Chelsea news: Josko Gvardiol confirms ‘serious’ offer as Eden Hazard discloses transfer plan

Your Chelsea news summary for Wednesday, March 15th.

Gvardiol confirms ‘serious’ offer

Josko Gvardiol has acknowledged that he received a significant proposal from Chelsea during the last summer transfer window, which he took into account.

The RB Leipzig standout had been strongly associated with a transfer to Stamford Bridge earlier in the year, but ultimately decided to sign a new five-year contract with his current German team after the proposed deal fell through.

During an interview with The Times, the highly valued youngster, who is reportedly worth £89 million, discussed how he became aware of Chelsea’s interest, the specifics of the offer made, and his intentions for the future.

Gvardiol said: “My agent called me and saw that Chelsea is extremely interested. Of course you definitely think about a serious offer from a huge club like Chelsea.

“Leipzig said they didn’t want to sell me, in the end I really struggled with that decision but we didn’t make an agreement. It is what it is, I am here and fine with this because my idea had been to stay here, one season wasn’t enough. This is my second, even one more season would be great but we will see.”

Osimhen price tag

It seems that Victor Osimhen is getting closer to departing from Napoli during the upcoming summer transfer window. The 24-year-old forward has been linked with a move away from the Italian club for a while now, thanks to his impressive performances in Serie A.

Sky Sports Germany reports that Manchester City, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing the Nigerian player, and talks regarding a potential transfer have already occurred.

According to the report, the Premier League champions have shown interest in Osimhen, despite already signing Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez in the summer.

Sky Sports also suggests that Napoli may demand a fee of at least €100 million (£88 million) for the Nigerian player’s transfer.

In January, Todd Boehly didn’t hesitate to pay a similar amount for Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez, so Chelsea, who are currently in need of a traditional striker, might be enticed to pursue Osimhen.

Hazard reveals transfer plan

Eden Hazard has stated that he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid and is determined to earn a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

The 32-year-old’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu is becoming more uncertain, as he has just 18 months left on his current contract.

“I would like to stay,” the former Blues winger told RTBF. “I have always said it. I hope to play to show that I can still do it. People have doubts, it’s normal. I understand it really good. But for me, I’m still here next year.

“You never know, but a transfer is not in the plan. What can make me change my mind? I don’t know. All I think about is playing. That’s why I don’t even think about leaving. Deep down, I think: ‘I can contribute something’.”
