Chelsea News: Blues to announce a deal for a brilliant midfielder as they eye raiding a goalkeeper from PL rival

Mount has become one of the most essential players at Stamford Bridge in recent years, and Graham Potter can rely on him completely.

However, Mount’s current contract with the Blues expires in 2024, and there has been media speculation that the club is having difficulty negotiating a new deal with the midfielder.

The latest talks between Mount’s agents, chairman Todd Boelhy, and co-owner Behdad Eghbali have reportedly resulted in a breakthrough in recent weeks, according to reports in The Athletic.

Now, Dean Jones of GIVEMESPORT reports that Chelsea and Mount could reach a new agreement by February.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “From what I understand, they do expect to put this to bed quite quickly now from here.

“It might even be that he’s got his new terms agreed by the time the Champions League restarts in February.”

Chelsea readying move for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford

Chelsea is interested in goalkeeper Jordan Pickford of Everton.

The Sun reports that England’s No. 1 has been put on Graham Potter’s radar as an alternative to Robert Sanchez of Brighton.

Blues are eager to acquire a starting goalkeeper, as Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have yet to impress the new administration.

Pickford has achieved international success.

This is despite the fact that Everton has experienced the occasional negative period.

He will also be hoping for more success with the Three Lions at the World Cup.

Sanchez is a favorite of the Potters, but Brighton will demand a hefty fee.

The Toffees could sell Pickford, age 28, in order to balance their books and and lose a big wage.
