Chelsea are sure that they will sign Christopher Nkunku before their rivals and hopes to finalize the deal quickly.

According to 90 Min, Chelsea are inching closer to signing RB Leipzig starlet Christopher Nkunku.

They desire to sign the France international in the upcoming summer and are willing to spend more than his rumored release clause to do so.

During the summer window, Chelsea initiated an ambitious endeavor. Todd Boehly provided the initial indications of their spending capacity.

There were concerns that the Blues could not match the financial strength of the Roman Abramovic dictatorship. However, the American owner has maintained the concept.

Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, and Kalidou Koulibaly have all signed lucrative contracts. The Blues appear prepared for another buying splurge in January and the following summer. Boehly desires to assemble a competitive team and appears willing to overpay for the right player.

Wesley Fofana is the perfect example since Chelsea bowed to pressure from Leicester City to pay more than his market value suggested. The Blues are prepared to employ a similar strategy to get Ballon d’Or candidate Christopher Nkunku.

The France international signed a new contract in the summer against intense competition from foreign clubs. In the deal, Leipzig incorporated a €60 million clause that will become operative next summer.

Chelsea is willing to spend extra to ensure they are in the driver’s seat and receive additional benefits from the transaction.

Typically, a team must pay the whole price to activate a release clause and sign the player. However, Chelsea is willing to pay in excess of the clause, which might allow them to pay the sum across multiple years.

Others will view Chelsea’s decision to pay extra as shrewd, despite the fact that some may find it peculiar.

Now, despite rival clubs’ interest, Chelsea remains optimistic about concluding a transaction sooner rather than later. Other Premier League and Spanish clubs monitor the Ballon d’Or candidate.

According to some reports, Nkunku is awaiting a contact from Real Madrid. Alternately, he may be interested in joining Chelsea. Even if the Blues pay more than his rumored release clause, it would be a significant coup if they can reach an agreement with Leipzig.

Nkunku will represent France in the World Cup, and if he does well in Qatar, numerous clubs could be interested in signing him next summer.
