Chelsea handed double boost ahead of Dortmund encounter
Graham Potter has received a timely boost before Chelsea’s Champions League match against Dortmund as N’Golo Kante and Reece James have resumed training, which was much needed.
Chelsea heads into Tuesday night’s second leg at Stamford Bridge against Dortmund with a 1-0 aggregate deficit.
Graham Potter has been facing significant pressure lately, and the team’s unconvincing 1-0 win over Leeds on Saturday did little to alleviate it. The club’s poor performance in recent months has been attributed to several factors, including injuries.
Since September, Kante has been absent from the team, and Chelsea has felt the absence of his strong and tenacious presence in the midfield.
Reece James has experienced multiple injuries this season and was absent from the team’s win against Leeds due to a hamstring issue.
However, both James and Kante took part in a training session at Cobham today, which comes as a timely boost before Tuesday’s match.
James is expected to have a higher chance of playing against Dortmund, but Kante may require careful handling. Meanwhile, Thiago Silva will be absent for six weeks, but Wesley Fofana performed well against Leeds and is expected to continue in defense.
