Chelsea fans make Graham Potter feelings clear after Blues overpower Borussia Dortmund

It’s clear where Chelsea fans stand on Graham Potter, as they showed their support for him and his team before the game.

Hours before kick-off, fans crowded the street outside Stamford Bridge to show their support, while online fans were not as significant.

The number of supporters was so high that the police had to form a barrier to control them.

The atmosphere inside the stadium was tense, as both sets of fans understood the importance of the match for Chelsea’s season.

They are currently in 10th place in the Premier League and have not won any FA Cup or Carabao Cup games. Since the World Cup, they have only defeated Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Leeds. This win was crucial for them.

While owner Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali may have a bold and ambitious long-term vision, fans are more concerned with immediate success. They want to see their team win against teams they are expected to beat on a regular basis, and this is what they pay for.

The Chelsea supporters responded to Potter’s call to action, and the team followed suit. Borussia Dortmund’s quick forward Karim Adeyemi, who scored the crucial goal in the first leg and has scored four goals in each of his last four games, was absent, which was a huge advantage for Chelsea.

In addition to Karim Adeyemi’s absence, Dortmund’s first-choice goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was also missing. However, his replacement Alexander Meyer made some excellent saves. Despite this, Chelsea still emerged victorious.

Graham Potter was incredibly animated when Raheem Sterling scored the goal that wiped out Dortmund’s first-leg advantage. He knew that it would have been a tough sell for the owners backing him if Chelsea had gone yet another game without scoring.

Potter couldn’t bear to watch the twice-taken Kai Havertz penalty that sealed their place in the next round, and it’s likely that Boehly and Eghbali were also nervous.

If it weren’t for the new ownership and this important win, Roman Abramovich might have sacked Potter already. However, the win has given him some breathing space and has been approved by the Chelsea fanbase.
