Chelsea could utilize Tottenham transfer interest to hijack Harry Kane’s Man City move.

Chelsea could utilize Tottenham transfer interest to hijack Harry Kane’s Man City move

Chelsea could consider using Tottenham’s interest in Kurt Zouma as a way of securing the signing of Harry Kane over Man City.

Kane has been associated with Chelsea in the past but has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League champions this summer.

The European champions have been involved in signing a new striker during the summer transfer window.

A £150million agreement to sign Erling Haaland from Borrusia Dortmund looks unbelievable.

Any move this summer would not make much thought considering that the Norweigan will be available for the cut down price of £65million when his release clause reaches into effect next summer.

Other rumored interest in a return to Stamford Bridge for Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku also looks unlikely.

The Belgian is reportedly not interested in leaving the Serie A champions this summer.

But according to French journalist, Julien Maynard, Spurs are interested in signing Chelsea centre back Kurt Zouma.

So why not use that interest to make a move for Premier League-proven Harry Kane?

The England skipper has won three Premier League golden boots and has scored a staggering 166 goals in England’s top division, 23 of which came during the last campaign.

It is no surprise that Kane sees his future at a club that will contend for the biggest prizes in football.

And after overcoming Man City in last season’s Champions League final, stealing Kane from under City’s noses would be another serious setback to the Premier League champions ahead of the new season.

Despite the intense rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs a move to Stamford Bridge would make sense for Kane.

The 28-year-old would not need to relocate as he and his family could remain in London.

A swap deal of Zouma plus cash would reasonably be needed to pull the deal off but Thomas Tuchel’s side will not be short of funds having not spent any money on transfers so far this summer.

And with Kane’s goalscoring record, paying a transfer fee which could be subdued if Zouma joins Spurs would surely be money well spent

Blues owner Roman Abramovich will anticipate a serious title challenge from his club next season after finishing fourth at the end of the last campaign.

No signing can ensure a title challenge but Kane will be as close to a guarantee as you can get.

It would be a solemn statement of purpose.
