Chelsea change their plan with Romelu Lukaku following loan to Inter Milan

Chelsea’s plans for Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, have reportedly changed.

Lukaku returned to Chelsea last summer, but after a disappointing season, he was loaned out again to Inter Milan. The Belgian forward has been plagued by injuries this season, and his return to the Italian squad has not gone as planned.

Chelsea’s plans for Lukaku have changed, according to  Calcio Mercato. According to the report, Chelsea intended to keep Lukaku on loan at Inter Milan for another season, but Todd Boehly will try to bring him back before selling him permanently.

Whether he goes out on loan again or permanently, it’s safe to say his Chelsea career is over.

Chelsea could use a free-scoring striker after their poor start to the season. Lukaku has previously demonstrated that he can be that man, but his return to Chelsea was underwhelming, and the best option for all parties now appears to be for Chelsea to cut their losses and let Lukaku leave the club permanently.
