Chelsea board have clear stance over Thomas Tuchel return as pressure mounts on Graham Potter
Reports suggest that Chelsea’s leadership views the idea of Thomas Tuchel returning as impossible, as they remain committed to supporting Graham Potter.
Due to Chelsea recent poor form, with just one victory in their last 10 games, there is a significant amount of pressure on Graham Potter as the manager.
The team’s loss to Southampton by a score of 1-0 only exacerbates the situation. Chelsea’s current position in the Premier League is 10th, and they are 11 points behind Tottenham, who currently occupy fourth place.
Additionally, the team must recover from a 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund in order to advance further in the Champions League.
Despite the team’s subpar performances, the club’s leadership is said to be standing by Potter and are confident that he is the right individual to turn things around.
There are some Chelsea supporters who have expressed their support for Thomas Tuchel by chanting his name during matches this season. Some of these fans believe that the decision to dismiss Tuchel in September was a mistake.
However, according to the Evening Standard, it is deemed as “impossible” for Tuchel to return to Chelsea, as the club’s leadership became dissatisfied with the way he managed the team.
According to the same report, Paris Saint-Germain is contemplating the possibility of bringing Thomas Tuchel back to the club to replace Christophe Galtier.
PSG fired Tuchel a little over two years ago, but they are now rumored to be willing to acknowledge their mistake.
However, Tuchel, who is presently unemployed after being dismissed by Chelsea earlier this season, would need certain assurances before consenting to return to PSG.
During the final phase of his time at PSG, Tuchel had a falling out with the club’s sporting director, Leonardo.
However, Leonardo has since been replaced by Luis Campos. PSG is currently leading Ligue 1 by five points, but their elimination from the Coupe de France and a loss in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 matchup against Bayern Munich last week has increased the pressure on current manager Christophe Galtier.
