Chelsea are aiming to raid Arsenal as they has been linked with a move for theGunners goal machine, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker has been Arsenal’s most valuable player for the last three seasons.

Despite last season’s campaign, where the captain had a surprisingly poor form, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta still sees him as an influential part of their future plans.

While Arsenal fell out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage, Chelsea won the Champions League, reached the final of the FA Cup, and finished inside the top four in the last season’s campaign.

Thomas Tuchel and his Chelsea squad are looking to build on that and they have prioritized signing a new world class striker ahead of the upcoming season.

Timo Werner has continued to underperform and The Telegraph mentions Aubameyang as one striker that they are contemplating a move for.

It says that the Blues are overwhelmed by his goal-scoring expertise and they are looking to reunite him with Thomas Tuchel.

The duo previously worked together at Borussia Dortmund before Aubameyang left for the Arsenal at the start of 2018 under the leadership of departed club legendary coach Arsene Wenger.

The report maintains the Blues wanted to sign him last season but reflected that he was too old.

It then adds Tuchel can make a case for signing him by denoting at his goal record under his supervision which is impressive.

Talking last month, Tuchel stated:

“Back in the days at Dortmund, it was a pure pleasure to have him in the squad. Auba was a fantastic striker, a fantastic finisher on the pitch.

“But more than that, he was a fantastic worker off the pitch. I think he did not miss one single training in two years.

“Yeah, it was a very reliable relationship because he delivered an unbelievable amount of goals, his speed was unique in Bundesliga and he was a crucial player.

“It was a pleasure to work with him, always a smile on his face, very, very honest guy. A bit of a crazy guy, but this is nice crazy.”

The forward still has two years left to run on his deal at the Emirates Stadium.
