Bukayo Saka to reportedly meet President Tinubu in Abuja
Bukayo Saka, a Nigerian-heritage English footballer, remains present in Lagos, the bustling city of Nigeria. Having reached Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on May 31, 2023, the 21-year-old forward intends to allocate some of his leisure time in Nigeria following a demanding 2022-2023 Premier League season.
There was a prevalent belief that Saka, an individual of Nigerian descent who migrated to the UK, would opt to play for the Nigerian national team, commonly known as the Super Eagles. However, he made the decision to represent England instead.
Saka’s impact on Arsenal’s performance in the Premier League, where they secured the runner-up position behind eventual champions Manchester City, has been widely acknowledged. Following his arrival, Saka took a tour around Lagos and was seen in various locations within the city.
During his visit to Lagos, Saka paid a visit to Bariga, a neighborhood within the city. However, some of his followers on social media mistakenly believed that he was in Egbeda instead.
On June 3, Saka had the opportunity to meet with Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has served as the governor of Lagos State for two terms. Pictures capturing their meeting swiftly gained widespread attention and became viral sensations on the internet.
Saka to meet President Buhari
According to sources, Saka is set to depart from Lagos and travel to Abuja, which serves as the capital city of Nigeria.
There is an expectation that Saka will have a meeting with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the newly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
However, neither Saka’s representatives nor the Presidency have officially confirmed this reported meeting as of yet, according to Pulse Sports.
