Bruno Fernandes’ words following 7-0 humiliation will outrage fans even more

Yesterday afternoon at Anfield, Manchester United’s impressive streak of good performances suddenly ended. In an incredible second half on Merseyside, Liverpool delivered their heaviest defeat to United, completely dismantling Erik ten Hag’s team.

Although  Manchester United dominated the early stages of the game and could have taken the lead, they conceded just before halftime. In the second half, United fell apart and conceded six more goals, resulting in a remarkable 7-0 scoreline that was difficult to believe.

According to the Daily Mail, Bruno Fernandes took on the role of captain for United and faced the consequences after the humiliating defeat.

“It’s frustrating. It’s a really bad result, we came here with a different mindset. We give too much space away. We know what a threat they are. It was not our level. We know we can be better,” he said.

Fernandes was very close to scoring in the first half and believes that United lost control in the second half, which led to their defeat.

“The first half was really good, we controlled most of it, the second half was not at our level. The team tries to react but we lost a bit of balance and control, “he said.

Fernandes remains optimistic about United’s future, despite the outcome of the game. He believes that United will continue to maintain the high standards they have set in the past few months and will work hard to get back on track as soon as possible.

“We know this team is really good and can do really good things,” added Fernandes. “We have set a really good standard for ourselves, now its just about getting back to that.”

Although the recent defeat was a setback, United still has the opportunity to make this season a special one, with the team still competing in cup competitions. Fernandes acknowledges the significance of winning the Carabao Cup, which ended the club’s six-year trophy drought.

“We are still in the Europa League and FA Cup, we have to get back on track. We are in the hunt to win the next game against (Real) Betis. We have to go game by game,” he said.

Manchester United has demonstrated that they can handle significant setbacks this season, and it is expected that they will bounce back from the recent defeat. The team will face Real Betis on Thursday, followed by a Premier League match against Southampton, who are currently struggling, at Old Trafford on Sunday.
