Brighton midfielder Leandro Trossard replies directly to Chelsea transfer link
Leandro Trossard of Brighton has refused to rule out a move to Chelsea but maintains he has not been approached by Graham Potter’s side.
With seven goals and two assists in the Premier League so far this season, the 27-year-old has been one of Brighton’s standout performers.
Trossard’s performances have also won him a spot in Belgium’s World Cup squad, which will begin later this month in Qatar.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, where he would be reunited with Potter, his former Brighton manager.
But when asked about Chelsea’s interest, Trossard told Het Laatste Nieuws: “Chelsea have in any case not yet reported. Not with Brighton and not with me.
‘I have to wait and see. I want to finish strong at Brighton and leave for Qatar with that good feeling.’
Speaking about Potter’s departure to Chelsea in September, Trossard said: “That was very strange, because I’ve always played under Potter at Brighton and have got better year after year.
“You go through the full preparation and suddenly a new coach is there in September.
“Then you don’t know what to expect, but the reactions about De Zerbi were only positive. He really wants to play football and the way he wants to play suits me perfectly.”
