Brighton hint Tottenham Premier League clash postponment with fixture update

Brighton hint Tottenham Premier League clash postponment with fixture update

On Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Brighton hoping to rebound from their derby day loss to Arsenal, their first Premier League loss of the season.

The match will be difficult for Antonio Conte’s squad, as fourth-placed Brighton are in high spirits after drawing 3-3 with Liverpool in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge of the Seagulls.

Brighton has however suggested that Saturday’s match may be postponed. The game is scheduled to begin at 17:30 at AMEX Stadium.

The Seagulls have promoted their next home game via a video on their official Twitter page, but the match against Spurs has not been included.

The next home game for Brighton is on Tuesday, October 18 against Nottingham Forest, followed by a matchup against Chelsea on Saturday, October 29.

The impending rail strikes on Saturday, October 8 have thrown the match against Tottenham into serious doubt.

This season, Brighton’s match against Crystal Palace on September 17 was postponed due to “exceptional circumstances related to the planned industrial action on the rail network.”

However, the Spurs match remains on Brighton’s official website’s fixture list.

The graphic in the Twitter video may have been an error, but it will undoubtedly cause confusion among both fanbases regarding the game’s status, especially given Brighton’s history of games being affected by rail strikes.

On October 8, fourteen rail companies will go on strike, halting many services.
