Borussia Dortmund issue fresh Erling Haaland transfer message to Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund have informed Chelsea that they have no plan of selling Erling Haaland this summer.

The Norway international has drawn attention from several clubs across Europe among them Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United.

But reports in recent weeks have alleged that Chelsea have stepped up their chase of Haaland as Thomas Tuchel is ready to allow both Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the window.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is perceived to be individually driving the club’s attempts to sign Haaland.

But last season’s Champions League champions face a huge task of striking an agreement with Dortmund this summer, with the overall cost of the sale expected to be around £150 million.

And now Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, has made it open to Chelsea that Haaland is anticipated to stay for another year.

“Erling Haaland is currently keeping fit at home in Norway,” Zorc told Sport1 on Saturday.

“He will be back with us in Dortmund for training on Monday.”

Speaking to Bild on Friday, Zorc said of Haaland’s situation:
“Nothing has changed.

“We are still planning with Erling for the new season.”

Haaland is currently engaged to Dortmund until 2024.

But the 20-year-old striker, who has scored 57 goals in 59 matches for Dortmund, has a release clause between €75m (£64m) and €100m (£85m) which can be activated in the summer of 2022.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel wants to add star quality to his attacking positions after seeing his side constantly explode after his arrival in January.

Midfielder Jorginho was Chelsea’s top Premier League scorer with seven goals, although each of his strikes were penalties.

Their £47million signing Timo Werner scored just six times in the top-flight and Tuchel cannot afford a correspondingly low-scoring season from the forward if he is to claim for the Premier League title.

Chelsea have been associated with a return for their former academy player Declan Rice, who was set free by the Blues aged 14 and has since starred for West Ham.

The 22-year-old midfielder helped the Hammers qualify for the Europa League last season and has had an outstanding Euro 2020 with England.

“Two or three could be very, very good,” Chelsea boss Tuchel said after the Champions League final victory over Man City.

“It’s a constant thing to never deny change.

“That you always bring new energy, new guys who question the old beliefs, who challenge everybody in the training and in matches, so I think it’s a good thing.

“We don’t need another seven and another complete turnover because it’s also our job to keep on improving.

“Because we have still a young squad and it’s not about stealing from them the chance to prove it again that they are capable of growing and evolving.

“But we have some ideas, of course, to make the group stronger and I think this can always be a positive thing to challenge all of us.”
