Bayern Munich target likely to play for Manchester City next season: Fabrizio Romano
Julian Alvarez is expected to remain at Manchester City for the upcoming season, despite the attention he received from Bayern Munich, a prominent German team.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich expressed interest in acquiring Alvarez on loan, but it appears that he will stay with Manchester City instead.
Alvarez’s football journey began at River Plate, where he developed through their youth system.
In the winter of 2022, he made a move to Manchester City, signing a contract with the English club. However, he continued to play for River Plate on loan for an additional six months before officially joining City ahead of the current season.
There's no chance at all for Julián Álvarez to leave Man City on loan deal in the summer. Sources feel he's set to stay in any case; but for sure, not leaving on loan. 🔵⛔️ #MCFC

The 23-year-old striker had an outstanding performance in the FIFA World Cup 2022, playing a crucial role in his team’s success in the global tournament. Similarly, he has been delivering impressive performances for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League.
Although he has not been a regular starter, the Argentine forward has managed to achieve remarkable statistics. Despite only playing for 1,363 minutes in his 30 league appearances, he has contributed to 10 goals through scoring or assisting.
In all competitions, Alvarez has been involved in 22 goals in his 48 appearances. He has scored 17 goals and provided five assists.
Despite his previous dissatisfaction with his playing time, the 23-year-old ultimately decided to commit to Manchester City by signing a new contract that extends until the summer of 2028.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich expressed strong interest in acquiring the talented forward from City. With the departure of their star striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, Bayern was in search of a new forward who could contribute goals to their squad. They saw Alvarez as a potential great addition to their team and were interested in securing him on loan for the upcoming season.
However, according to Romano, it is highly unlikely that Alvarez will be allowed to leave on loan. Although there is significant interest in his services, a loan move seems to be off the table. Nonetheless, Romano does not rule out the possibility of a permanent transfer, despite Alvarez recently signing a new contract with Manchester City.
