Arsenal may soon gain an advantage over their North London rivals, as the Daily Mail reports that Chris Perkins is in negotiations to oversee their academy recruitment after departing Tottenham.

After leaving Everton, Perkins served as Spurs’ emerging talent manager for roughly 18 months.

According to the Daily Mail, he previously worked for Derby County’s academy.

In his role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Perkins was responsible for identifying and recruiting top players between the ages of 17 and 21. However, it appears that he has moved on.

According to the Daily Mail, he has now left the club. He had discussed a possible return to Goodison Park with Everton. However, Perkins may be taking a significantly shorter step.

According to the Daily Mail, Perkins is in discussions with Arsenal regarding a position in which he would oversee academy recruitment. According to reports, he could begin as early as next month.

It appears to be a major coup for the Gunners, especially considering where Perkins would be coming from. His reputation in the game is outstanding. And Tottenham will be saddened by his departure.

It is an exciting time to work at Arsenal, regardless of the position. The Arsenal are leading the Premier League. It appears that they have completely revamped their club at all levels.

There are many talented individuals knocking on Mikel Arteta’s door. Given their trajectory, they should have little trouble luring more of the country’s top prospects to relocate to the Emirates.

Particularly for those of us on the outside, it can be difficult to quantify the impact of certain backroom figures at clubs. However, it appears to be another positive development for Arsenal.
