Arteta set for talks with six first-team stars over departing the club this summer.

Arsenal are set to hold talks with six first-team members over their Emirates Stadium futures, according to the Evening Standard.

Mikel Arteta is carrying out a comprehensive rebuild of his squad after an underwhelming period in north London. The Gunners want to sign Brighton defender Ben White and Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga as part of their summer overhaul.

Bids of £40million and £13m apiece have been knocked back, but Arsenal are working on proceedings and remains very keen. There is also interest in Aaron Ramsdale, but they will only move for the Sheffield United goalkeeper if Bernd Leno departs.

Leno is among the six Arsenal members set for talks with the club over their futures in north London. The German is open to leaving and taking on a new challenge, which would leave Arteta without a first-choice shot-stopper.

Defender Calum Chambers plus midfielders Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock have talks scheduled. While strikers Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette face doubt over their future chances, as well.

Arsenal will likely tell both Maitland-Niles and Nketiah they can look for new clubs in the summer window. The Gunners are also attending to offers for Sead Kolasinac, Matteo Guendouzi, and Lucas Torreira.

Konstantinos Mavropanos, meanwhile, is speaking with Stuttgart over a £7m permanent move to the Bundesliga squad. Granit Xhaka’s agent also remains in talks with Roma to agree to a fee with Jose Mourinho’s new Serie A side.

Arsenal will speak with Lacazette and Chambers as they both enter the final year of their deals next month. While Arteta could give Chambers a new contract, as the defender’s resurgence imprinted the Spaniard last season.

Arsenal will talk with Willock to determine if his future is at the Emirates after impressing while out on loan. Newcastle United would like to keep the England U21 international, but no settlement has been made in north London.

Arsenal are showing they back Arteta and his idea for the club by organizing talks with six players, along with those already speaking with other sides over moves away.

The squad at the Emirates may look very changed next season to the one that ended the last Premier League campaign eighth in the table. But Edu will likely need to agree on a raft of exits for Arsenal to afford White, Lokonga, and their other targets.

Willock showed what he can offer by becoming the youngest top-flight player to score in seven straight games while at Newcastle. And he, plus Chambers, may be worth keeping with Arteta touched by the defender.
