Arteta or Aubameyang? Who to blame for striker’s departure now exposed

The departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal stunned everyone because he was the club’s leading scorer.

This made everyone wonder who was to blame for his falling out with Mikel Arteta prior to his exit.

Remember that the Gabonese international had his captain’s band stripped away and was not allowed to train with the team before his contract was terminated.

However, it has been revealed in a new clip from the latest set of episodes of ‘All or Nothing: Arsenal’ who is to blame for Aubameyang’s departure.

Mohamed Elneny and Rob Holding’s interaction tells the story better.

Elneny asks Holding: “What happened with Auba yesterday?” to which the centre-half responds: “He want to Paris yesterday then came home and the boss wanted him back.

Shocked by the timing of Aubameyang’s trip, Elneny answers: “One day before?” with Holding reacting: “Yeah one day before and he came back the next day and then was late for training.

“He had permission to go there, because it was something to do with his mum – he had to go see his mum – but then he didn’t get back in time, didn’t listen to him [Arteta] and do the correct thing.”

Both agreed on Arteta’s big decision, with Elneny saying, “The boss had balls,” and Holding agreeing, “Yeah, the boss had balls, eh?”

No surprise, Arteta insisted that he has no regrets about how he handled the Aubameyang situation.

Arteta explains in the documentary: “I was extremely happy when he decided to extend his contract. We agreed and we set some objectives that we have to achieve together

“I made some compromises of what I was happy to do and what he could expect from me and I demand the same things from him. And then, it’s [about] whether or not we are consistent which what we do and what we decided and what I wanted to install from day one.

“If somebody doesn’t do, or breaks, some of the non-negotiables, that’s a really difficult point to get something back from.”
