Arteta could leave his role as Arsenal manager after new details emerge
If Arsenal fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the club may consider dismissing manager Mikel Arteta.
Between February 10 and March 13, the North London giants won five consecutive Premier League games, boosting their chances of finishing in the top four
However, Three crushing defeats in their previous four games, notably a 3-0 away loss to Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace on Monday, followed by a humiliating 2-1 loss to Brighton have allowed local rivals Tottenham Hotspur to leapfrog them in the table.
The Gunners are presently fifth in the Premier League league, three points behind fourth-placed Antonio Conte’s side with a game in hand, while Manchester United and West Ham United are three points further back after playing at least one more games.
The team still has games against Chelsea, West Ham, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, all of which could determine the club’s European fate.
According to football.london’s Tom Canton, if the capital club fails to qualify for the UCL, the Spaniard could be fired.
However, Tom believes that removing the 40-year-old of his responsibilities may not be the wisest choice because it may untwist the tactician’s forward-thinking underpinnings.
Mikel, who has been in charge of Arsenal since October 2019, is under contract with the club until June 2023.
