Arsenal young manager breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo Arsenal transfer after Piers Morgan ‘perfect’ claim

Arsenal young manager breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo Arsenal transfer after Piers Morgan ‘perfect’ claim

Sorry, Piers, but it is unlikely that Cristiano Ronaldo will join Arsenal if he leaves Manchester United.

Ronaldo criticized manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s management in a surprise interview with Piers Morgan of TalkTV.

It appears unlikely that he will ever play for the club again, and the complete 90-minute interview is scheduled to air on Wednesday and Thursday.

Morgan, an Arsenal supporter, has been pressuring Ronaldo to join the north London club, even giving him a shirt with his name and number seven on the back during a prior interview.

The TalkTV broadcaster stated on Monday’s talkSPORT Breakfast that the 37-year-old would be ideal for the Gunners to help them win the Premier League title.

However, Arsenal hero Wilshere does not believe that will occur. Wilshere, who presently coaches the Under-18s, believes that Mikel Arteta, the manager of the senior team, would not have him.

Wilshere, speaking in broad terms about clubs signing Ronaldo, told talkSPORT Drive: “I still think he would bring something for the younger players to look at, see how he lives and see how he does things. I still think there’s a benefit to have him.”

Host Darren Bent added: “You wouldn’t take him at Arsenal though, no chance. With what Arteta is building now at Arsenal, you wouldn’t take him.”

Wilshere: “I don’t think Mikel would have him. No [I wouldn’t have him either].”

Bent: “You can’t have him at Arsenal, you just got rid of Aubameyang.”

Wilshere: “Obviously what he has done is bad, but he doesn’t have a track record of that. He stayed at Madrid for years.”

This season, Erik ten Hag has already had to punish Ronaldo for refusing to come on against Tottenham and leaving the field before the game was over.

He was benched for one game before being reinstated, and then he captained the squad against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Before this conversation came to light, Bent believed that Ten Hag would be the ‘weakest’ Premier League manager in history if he allowed him to return.

Former striker Bent said: “He said he doesn’t respect him, any manager in any given situation has a right to pick and choose who he wants to play and who he doesn’t.

“If he feels Ronaldo is good enough to be in the side, he’ll pick him. If he doesn’t then he won’t,

“If he was to allow Ronaldo back into that dressing room after what he’s done with the stomping down the tunnel and then let him back in with the armband and was supposed to be the leader.

“If he lets him back in now, he will be the weakest manager in Premier League history. You cannot allow players to run amuck. I get he’s one of the greatest we’ve ever seen, but we’ve seen other greats conduct themselves better than Ronaldo has.

“It’s not all about him, it’s about Manchester United football club.”
