Arsenal World Cup player misses training with injury concern

According to a report, Takehiro Tomiyasu did not train with Japan on Thursday due to soreness in his right thigh.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Hiroki Sakai were both absent from Thursday’s training with the Japan national team, with Tomiyasu’s absence due to soreness in the back of his right thigh.

Sakai apparently visited the hospital to check on his symptoms, suggesting that his condition was much more dire. However, Tomiyasu’s condition was severe enough to prevent him from training.

Hajime Moriyasu, a Japanese football manager, said about the pair: “I don’t know yet about injuries.”

After Japan’s 2-1 victory over Germany, Tomiyasu originally attempted to dispel rumors of an injury issue.

Tomiyasu stated to the media that he was simply playing for time, attempting to delay the game without drawing the medical staff’s intervention.

However, Tomiyasu’s absence from training shows that his injury may have been more severe than he indicated.

The right-back for Arsenal entered the tournament already wounded, which is why he only played the second half against Germany.

Tomiyasu is such a crucial player for Japan, thus it is understandable why he was selected. Nonetheless, it is certain that they will need to monitor him carefully over the remainder of the tournament, providing he remains fit.
