Arsenal Transfer headlines: Arsenal bid for Lautaro Martinez, Chelsea and Liverpool in race for Odegaard, Cedric Soares to Fenerbahce, James Maddison speculation, new deal for Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka

Report: Arsenal have made £60m bid for player

Arsenal have risen as shock suitors for Lautaro Martinez, and they have enquired about the availability of the Inter Milan striker, according to The Athletic.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made a bid for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Sport Mediaset.

Sport Mediaset are reporting that Arsenal are interested in signing Inter striker Martinez.

The Gunners are so keen on the striker that they have actually made an offer of €70 million (£59.74m) for the 23-year-old Argentina international.

Arsenal have enquired about the likelihood of signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan and it’s guessed the player would be interested in moving to the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal sought questions about the availability of Martinez during discussions over Hector Bellerin.

Although some supporters have questioned whether Martinez would want to join Arsenal, the same report states that the striker would be open to the move if Inter would be willing to move him on.

Arsenal would be open to the idea of a swap deal which would involve sending Bellerin the other way.

The Spaniard’s agent was in London this week to hold talks with the club over his client’s future.

Inter seem unwilling to pay £20million for the full-back as funds remain limited.

The Serie A champions would prefer straight cash for the player.

Arsenal joined by Chelsea and Liverpool in race to sign Real Madrid midfielder

Arsenal have been joined by Chelsea and Liverpool in the pursuit to sign Martin Odegaard, according to Fichajes.

Odegaard joined Arsenal on loan in the January transfer window, having strived to force his way into Zinedine Zidane’s thinking at Real Madrid.

With Zidane since having withdrawn, and Odegaard returned to Real Madrid, the theory was that he’d stay with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the upcoming campaign.

However, a report by Fichajes implies that Odegaard could have several chances to depart Madrid this summer, should he wish to do so.

The report alleges that Arsenal are keen on re-signing Odegaard, which is unsurprising, but Chelsea and Liverpool are also named as potential suitors.

It remains to be seen if either club would welcome a loan deal in the manner that Arsenal did back in the winter, or would look to attempt something permanent.

Odegaard’s agent could be in for a busy end to the summer transfer window, if the information provided by Fichajes proves to be accurate…

Fenerbahce want Arsenal midfielder on loan with buy option

Fenerbahce are involved in Arsenal midfielder Cedric Soares according to Fotomac.

Per the source, recently appointed Yellow Canaries manager Vitor Periera wants to strengthen the midfield ahead of the start of the new season.

Pereira has drawn up a shortlist which includes Soares.

The report claims that Soares would be an ideal fit for the style of football Pereira wants to deploy as he can play on the right of both a 3-4-3 and a 4-4-2 setup.

The Yellow Canaries want to pursue a transfer strategy for Soares which would see him join on loan with a buy option.

Arsenal transfer target left out of matchday squad for reasons unknown

James Maddison is missing from Leicester City’s squad amid speculation connecting him with Arsenal.

Maddison, a pivotal player in the offensive third for Leicester, has been drawing attention from Arsenal, as has been reported by outlets such as Sky Sports.

Maddison was not even named among the substitutes by manager Brendan Rodgers.

There may well be a reasonable explanation for Maddison not being involved – an injury or a personal matter.

However, he was in the squad for Leicester’s last friendly on Wednesday, and his unexplained absence amid links is Arsenal are sure to get people talking.

Report: Two Arsenal players set to be offered new deals including ‘phenomenal’ 28-year-old

According to The Guardian, Arsenal are set to offer Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka new deals, despite the fact they’ve both been strongly linked with an exit.

Now, new deals don’t certainly mean both players will be staying at Arsenal, but it does protect the Gunners’ valuable assets, and also increases both players’ market value.

This could prove to be a masterstroke or a huge waste of money, but it is certainly an interesting strategy.

Both men have been strongly linked with a move to Serie A this summer, with Roma reportedly in for Xhaka and Inter supposedly looking at Bellerin, but with both clubs struggling to meet Arsenal’s asking price and terms, it’s been tough for the Gunners to shift them.

Keeping hold of both players could be something of a blessing in disguise. Let’s not forget that Xhaka had a brilliant Euro 2020 and has been labelled as ‘phenomenal’ in the past, while on his day, Bellerin is one of the better right-backs in England.
