Arsenal superstar Gabriel Magalhaes reacts to missing out on World Cup after Brazil snub
Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal has issued a cryptic response to his exclusion from Brazil’s 2022 World Cup roster.
On Monday, Brazil manager Tite announced his 26-man roster for Qatar, which included several Premier League stars.
Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, both attackers for Arsenal, were selected ahead of Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.
Gabriel, though, was left out despite his outstanding efforts this season, which have catapulted Arsenal to the Premier League summit.
Gabriel lost out to Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Eder Militao, and Bremer in the competition for a spot in Brazil’s national team due to the abundance of world-class players at Tite’s disposal.
Some were dismayed by his omission, but it was understandable considering his lack of international football experience; the 24-year-old has yet to make his Brazil senior debut.
Gabriel has not yet commented directly on the topic, however he did respond to a fan on his Instagram story shortly after the squad announcement.

Reposting a remark that stated, : “I saw you grow up in football, brother. You are the pride of our neighbourhood,” the defender added a heart and fist-bump emoji to the caption.
In addition, he has liked a number of colleagues’ social media postings celebrating their own call-ups, notably that of Jesus, who released a video montage of his career highlights with the captain ‘Inexplicable’.
Nunca desista dos seus sonhos. Um momento de orgulho para mim e minha família, pois tenho a chance de representar meu país em uma Copa do Mundo. CATAR 2022!! @CBF_Futebol pic.twitter.com/uwA3YXQBgM

“Work hard and in silence, let your results make noise,” the 25-year-old added on Instagram.
Martinelli’s pick was somewhat unexpected, but he was clearly overjoyed, writing, “Never give up your dreams. A proud moment for me and my family, as I have the chance to represent my country in a World Cup. QATAR 2022!!’
Five times World Cup champions Brazil, who last won in 2002, is considered the favorite to win the tournament in Qatar.
Brazil are in Group G and will begin their campaign against Serbia on November 24, followed by matches against Switzerland and Cameroon.
