Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke makes shocking admissions that will have an impact on Gunners summer transfer season
Stan Kroenke, the owner of Arsenal, has made the stunning announcement that he will heavily back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market.
According to TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, Kronke’s disclosure indicates a ‘definite change of tact’ at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite missing out on Champions League qualification, the Gunners have spent heavily in the early stages of the summer transfer season. They will compete in the Europa League the following season.
Crook expressed surprise that Arteta was granted a reasonable budget despite failing to qualify for the Champions League.
The talkSPORT journalist believes the financial assistance demonstrates the Kroenkes’ willingness to spend money in north London.
Crook told GIVEMESPORT: “They are close to spending £300million in the last two summer transfer windows.
“Considering that the Arsenal fans, not that long ago, were really unhappy with the lack of investment from the Kroenkes, I think there’s been a definite change of tact.
“I didn’t expect Arteta – having missed out on the top four – to be quite as well backed this summer as he was last, but clearly I’ve been proven wrong.”
This, however, suggests that the North London club will make further acquisitions before the summer transfer window closes.
Mikel Arteta’s side are in the midst of a busy summer transfer window as he attempts to bolster his squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Experienced American goalkeeper Matt Turner, Brazilian teenager Marquinhos, and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira have all joined the club, while Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus appears to be on his way to the Emirates.
