Arsenal now very close to their first summer signing.
Although there’s no proof of a second bid just yet, Albert Sambi Lokonga is assumed to sign for Arsenal fairly imminently.
Speaking to Terry Flewers’ on The Football Terrace, HLN’s Kristof Terreur gave an update on his outlook of Albert Sambi Lokonga’s possible move from Anderlecht to Arsenal, and it all seems pretty convinced.
If you recall, Terreur was the one to break the report of Arsenal’s initial bid for Lokonga in the first place. He indicated he hadn’t had any confirmation of a second offer just yet, adding it’s possible we won’t hear much until the contract is done now.
Arsenal reportedly don’t have a lot of opposition at this stage of negotiations, so they’re quite sure they’ll get him.
The player is keen to move, and Anderlecht really need to sell him for financial motives.
Anderlecht want €20m, and Arsenal originally offered €15m with add-ons, but a settlement between €17-20m is anticipated.

Football.London report that Arsenal are certain of finalising at least two incoming deals over the next few weeks, and Albert Sambi Lokonga of Anderlecht is considered to be one of the two.
Goal, Football.London, and the Evening Standard all report that Arsenal have made an offer of around £13m for Lokonga, which was knocked back. But that hasn’t quelled their interest or optimism in completing a deal.
Goal claim discussion between Arsenal and Anderlecht is continuing, with Arsenal confident of reaching a compromise and expected to make a second offer.
HLN in Belgium claim Lokonga is leaving, adding that Arsenal have made an offer and Bayern Munich are following the situation closely. Di Marzio add that Atalanta and Napoli are also involved, but Arsenal are ahead having already made a bid.
For what it’s worth, Di Marzio maintains Arsenal’s initial bid was €12m, quite a way off the reports of ~£13m (€15m) from the English media.
The difference between these figures may be accounted for by bonuses, given earlier reports from Belgium suggested Arsenal’s initial offer was €15m including bonuses.
