Arsenal move for Gabriel Jesus takes major Chelsea option off the table
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
We learned yesterday that Arsenal had made an excellent £50 million bid for the forward, while Chelsea remain paralysed by the Romelu Lukaku scenario.
The relocation appears to be moving forward. The Times claimed last night that Jesus “wants to join Arsenal,” making their task much easier.

Chelsea doesn’t have much she can do right now. They may believe they can persuade Manchester City to sell, and they may believe they can persuade Jesus to choose them over Arsenal.
But there isn’t much they can do until they know where Lukaku is headed. That transaction should be completed within the next week, if at all.
But, given the current rate of progress, Jesus will be too late. There are other choices, but the forward has Premier League experience and could be the best player available this summer.
