Arsenal handed a key injury scare ahead of Liverpool clash

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is said to have left the Gabonese national team camp and returned to Arsenal yesterday ahead of the Liverpool match.

The Arsenal captain is an important member of Gabon’s national team, and they had a World Cup qualifying match against Egypt today before he left.

The striker could have helped his country defeat the Pharaohs, who eventually defeated them 2-1; however, even a win for them in the game would have made no difference because they had already mathematically missed out on qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup prior to the game.

According to L’Union, the Panthers arrived in Egypt yesterday, but Aubameyang immediately boarded a chartered flight to London for an unspecified reason.

And according to Sportsmole UK, Arsenal have an injury concern with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.

Sportsmole reports that the 32-year-old was unable to play in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Egypt, leaving Arsenal concerned about his fitness for Saturday’s trip to Anfield.

However, videos of Aubameyang celebrating his team’s victory in the dressing room have surfaced on social media, seemingly allaying any fears of a long-term layoff.

The situation with Aubameyang is not thought to be too serious at the moment, but there is some concern among Arsenal fans ahead of the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, a conflicting report from Justarsenal  has played down such injury claim. The report claims Auba is unlikely to be injured after playing and scoring against Libya in the previous round of matches.

Given that the game against Egypt was a dead rubber, the striker may have requested to leave his national team so that he could begin preparing for Arsenal’s match against Liverpool as soon as possible.

That would be a nice gesture, and it would demonstrate why he deserves to be the club’s captain.

When Arsenal plays Liverpool, Auba will need to be at his best because the Gunners will need to take the chances that come their way.

It will only be a matter of time before Arsenal fans learn the truth about all of this.
